Nintendoverse Prime (Outdated)

Now this is a universe I love, Nintendo means so much to me and millions of others. However right now I'm gonna connect the greater Nintendo universe. However,.there be some rules here.

  1. No Smash Bros, Mario Kart or other large scale crossovers that have questionable canonicity
  2. Guest characters are not a reason for "canon sharing"
  3. I'm gonna try to make one consolidated world, not a multiverse, that might come later.
Good? Well, let's get started. Let's get started with my famous god-killing puffball, Kirby.

In Kirby's Dream Land 3 Kirby encounters some Metroids and even meets Samus Aran who thanks Kirby for a good job.
In Kid Icarus, Metroid-like things are seen however the connection isn't made appearant until Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS where Pit compares the in-game enemies Komaytos to Metroids.
This remark does mean that Pit has seen Metroids before or knows what they are. Komaytos do look like they are related to Metroids in some way.

NOTE: While Viridi breaks the fourth wall to say that the universes aren't connected, given her character that may have been either a joking remark or of anger towards Metroid because nothing would really explain how Pit knows what Metroids are unless he's seen them or read about them.
Now the elephant in the room is the Metroid references in Donkey Kong Returns and Tropical Freeze, but given that those were developed by Retro Studios, I do think of them as just lil easter eggs. The characters don't talk to each other and the characters of Donkey Kong don't acknowledge it. If there was some in-game text to go off of or something I would put it here, but this seems more like a small little easter egg to me, you may disagree.

                                       Tengd mynd
However I'm gonna bend my own rule a little bit for Dead or Alive: Dimensions where there's a stage based off of the Geothermal Plant from Other M and has Ridley and Samus fighting. I make an exception for fighting games here because its not simply a playable character but the fighters interact with Ridley.

Ryu Hayabusa
Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden is a recurrent character in the Dead or Alive series

In Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water, Ayane is playable for some missions in the post-game. She uses the special Camera Obscura. Spirit Camera and Real are Fatal Frame spinoffs.

Now, Dead or Alive does connect to Virtua Fighter whose characters like Sarah Bryant do appear in the story mode of Dead or Alive 5 and are playable, but it counts because they interact.

Dead or Alive also connects to the Warriors series and stuff but I think I will stop it here because this is getting way too long and that would deal with dimensions and stuff.

Back to Kirby, phew.... Mario and Luigi appears in Kirby Superstar Saga and its DS remake.

Mario has a bunch of spinoffs and connections, lets get through some of the obvious right off the bat. Luigi's Mansion, Super Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Wario Land, Warioware, Yoshi, Punch-Out!! (where he's the referee).

Sonic, the loveable blue hedgehog and his pals square up against our favorite italian stereotype whenever theres an olympics event in the Mario & Sonic subseries.

And lets just do another quick thing further. NIGHTS is referenced in several Sonic games, Ulala from Space Channel 5 is referenced in Sonic Colours, Amigo from Samba de Amigo appears in one of the Mario & Sonic games, Shadow the Hedgehog is a spinoff, Sonic appears in Bug! and Flicky from the game Flicky is a creature in the original Sonic game.

I intentionally left out Zelda and Mario x  Rabbids and Skylanders because then we are getting into multiverse territory. In conclusion, the Nintendoverse includes a shocking amount of non-Nintendo IPs.

To recap, it includes
--------------------
  1. Kirby
  2. Metroid
  3. Kid Icarus
  4. Mario
  5. Luigi's Mansion
  6. Super Princess Peach
  7. Donkey Kong
  8. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
  9. Wario Land
  10. Warioware
  11. Punch-Out
  12. Dead or Alive
  13. Ninja Gaiden
  14. Fatal Frame
  15. Spirit Camera
  16. Real
  17. Virtua Fighter
  18. Sonic the Hedgehog
  19. Shadow the Hedgehog
  20. NIGHTS
  21. Bug!
  22. Flicky
  23. Samba de Amigo
  24. Space Channel 5

That's, quite a lot and its a very interesting verse and quite expansive. Again this is with the strictest of criteria of characters actually having to either interact or reference it specifically as if they know that character or enemy or whatnot, so I think its about as consolidated as I could have it. Yes I included Mario & Sonic as they seem to interact and know each other.

Thanks for indulging me here and hope you found this guide on the Nintendoverse (or at least Nintendoverse Prime as I'm calling it) entertaining and interesting :D
